Safety with Essential Oils
-
Keep essential oils away from eyes and ears
(if you do get oil in your eyes, rinse with
vegetable oil, not water!).
-
Essential oils
are for external use only.
-
Dilute
essential oils before using. Carrier
oils such as Sweet Almond, Grapeseed,
Jojoba, or our own blend of Pure are recommended.
-
Avoid
direct sunlight or sunbed rays for 12 hours
following use of Bergamot, Orange, Lime,
Grapefruit, Lemon or Tangerine.
-
Do
not use for babies and young children without
proper dilution rates; follow recipes.
-
Keep
essential oils out of reach of children.
-
There
are many opinions about the use of essential
oils during pregnancy. Most oils are best
avoided, but the safe ones are: Chamomile,
Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender,
Neroli, Rose, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Ylang
Ylang, and citrus oils. Use only if you
are 100% comfortable. Lavender works wonders
for birthing, tight back and tension.
-
Consult
an aromatherapist before use with epilepsy,
heart disease or high blood pressure.
-
Keep
out of sunlight and store in a cool place
in amber or cobalt blue bottles. Cap tightly.
-
Always
remember, more is not better! One does not
need to be an aromatherapist to use pure
essential oils, but one does need to respect
the power of the oils!
